This page tells you what I’m focused on right now. Updated monthly.

Last updated: January 2026

What I’m Building

  • TCG SaaS Web Product: The development of a new platform for trading card game enthusiasts, bit of a passion project for me as both myself and my wife are avid TCG players. This is a good first test of what scale to zero architecture looks like using Azure Native Development techniques.
  • Blog Enhancement Project: Adding series navigation, templates library, and better content discovery.

What I’m Trying out

  • Scale to Zero Infrastructure: Working on implementing scale to zero architectures using Azure Container Apps, Azure Functions and other serverless components to optimise costs for MvP SaaS products. Namely wanting to understand the Azure centric blue prints for this approach. This will then allow me to think about other SaaS products I could build that would benefit from this architecture.

What I’m Reading

  • The Infinite Game - by Simon Sinek, finally getting around to it. Buy it Here
  • Red Country - Joe Abercrombie, because sometimes you just need a good fantasy book to unwind with. Buy it Here

What I’m Changing My Mind About

  • AI Agents: Moving towards cautious optimism. The tooling is definitely getting better and my workflows are adapting to leverage them more effectively. Very much team Opus at the moment.
  • Platform Engineering: The pendulum is swinging back from over-engineering to “just enough” platform, and this is where I’m focusing my efforts regards scale to zero architectures.

Current Focus Areas

Professional:

  • Leading platform engineering initiatives
  • Coaching new technical leaders
  • Writing pragmatic content on AI, delivery, and leadership

Personal:

  • Building side projects with modern AI tooling and architectures.
  • Exploring the intersection of robotics and software - especially humanoid systems like Boston Dynamics Atlas and Figure AI etc.
